Mesopotamia

Ancient Mesopotamia

The valley between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, called the Fertile Crescent, was where Mesopotamia, (an area where early civilization formed), was located.  The Sumerians were the people who started the first Mesopotamian civilization.  This prominent group of people is credited with the inventions of the first writing, the arch, the dome, the wheel, and countless other life-changing items.  The existance of these people is the reason why the world became as prosperous as it is today.
